If you listen really, really closely, you can hear my heart shatter when I read these panels. There is SO MUCH going on here. First off, we’ve got Steph being appreciated for the work she’s doing as a bat, which is not something she’s ever gotten (fuck you, Didio). We’ve got Jim clearly making a reference to his knowledge of what Babs used to do, and you see that one of the reasons Jim appreciates Steph is because he can see Babs in what she’s doing.

God, I miss Steph, and I miss the slow, careful laying out that was happening pre-reboot of Jim making it clear through hints and conversations that he knows exactly who all the bats are and appreciates what they do.
